Aden- Yemen 30/09/2020 Analysts expressed their fear of an imminent crude oil spill from the Houthi-run tanker, anchored off the coast of Hodeidah Governorate, west of Yemen. The Director of the Emergency Department and Marine Pollution at Maritime Affairs Authority, Mohammad Ali Al Mohandis warned that oil leakage will lead to an environmental and economic catastrophe, killing millions of fish which is the main source of food for most of the residents. He indicated that the cost of pulling out the oil is much cheaper than the irreversible repercussions of oil leakage.  He pointed out that the Red Sea is a vital area, where many mano trees and coral reefs live.
